The city of Pearland is one of the fastest growing communities in the Houston metropolitan area.

Founded in 1894, Pearland is the most rapidly growing city in Brazoria County and grew to more than 40,000 residents in the 2000 census with estimates of a population over 70,000 today and 103,000 by 2010. There are more than 28,000 households and the estimated median household income in Pearland in 2005 was more than $75,000.

Pearland is located adjacent to Highway 288 and Beltway 8, approximately 30 minutes from downtown Houston, 20 minutes from the Texas Medical Center, 30 minutes from NASA's Johnson Space Center, 30 minutes from the Galleria area business and shopping district, 30 minutes from Minute Maid Park, home of the National League Champion Houston Astros, and 20 minutes from the home of the Houston Texans', Reliant Stadium. Hobby Airport is only 15 minutes from Pearland's northern border.
