The City of Pearland welcomed Brazoria County Municipal Utility District 1 (MUD 1) into the City, effective Dec. 31, 2006. On that date, the MUD 1 Board for Emerald Point, Huntington Park, Southfield Village, Southglen and Tranquility Lakes was dissolved and those duties were assumed by the Pearland City Council.
